Course Objectives:

Meet the host:

Dr. John C. Comisi, DDS, MAGD

Dr. Comisi practiced general dentistry and dental sleep medicine successfully in Ithaca, NY for 35 years before relocating to South Carolina in August 2017 to join the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, where he is an Associate Professor of Restorative Dentistry, the Course Director for the College’s Operative Dentistry II (adhesive and esthetic dentistry) Course, Chair of the Oral Rehabilitation Department’s Dental Materials Committee, and a past Infection Control Officer for the College of Dental Medicine. He is also the Course Director for the newly introduced course on Dental Sleep Medicine, the first of its kind in US Dental Colleges.
 
A graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Fordham University. He is currently the President-Elect of the South Carolina Dental Association
 
Dr. Comisi is a member of the Academy of Dental Materials, the American Academy of Cariology, the American Association for Oral Systemic Health, the International Association of Dental Research, the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research, the American Sleep Breathing Academy, a member of The Dental Biomaterials Science-Research Scientific Advisory Board.
